Sunil Chaudhary

Since a little over three decades Sunil has been working for  national oil company, ONGC, engaged in exploration and production of hydrocarbons. He has enjoyed great collective success in all important Basins and producing fields of India and his expertise is in estimating resources through acquisition of geophysical data and participating in devising plans to commercially produce and subsequently to monitor the production over the field life of the reservoir. ONGC has provided him with various opportunities to enhance his skills, travel around the globe and also awarded him with Professional of the Year award for 2009.

Education and Achievements:

  • M.Sc. M.Phil. (Physics) with specialisation in Electronics
  • M.Phil. Thesis on Thin Film Solar cells
  • Sunil has an excellent academic record which was followed by Junior Research Fellowship from CSIR and Research Fellowship from IIG, Bombay. He represented India as a Research Scholar at Simon Bolivar University, Venezuela and the Third International Centre of Theoretical Physics (Trieste, Italy) Conference held at Bogota, Colombia in 1982, perhaps as one of the youngest participants on invitation.

Papers:

  • He has more than 15 publications/presentations related to Upstream Exploration and Production of Hydrocarbons sector in various International Conferences.

He is married to Nandita Chaudhary, Ph.D. in Child Development, Reader at Lady Irwin College, Delhi University, an accomplished author, Fulbright Scholar, researcher and home maker. Theirs was a marriage of choice and they enjoy travelling together and are as excited being with each other as they were when they began our journey, 30 years ago.
